By accessing or using KeplerDocs ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. description of service

KeplerDocs is an AI-powered folder scanning and file insights tool that helps you understand your files without opening them. The Service analyzes file metadata and content previews to provide:

• Timestamped folder scan reports
• Smart file descriptions and classifications
• Sensitivity detection for potentially private content
• Recommendations for file organization (keep, delete, review)
• Stale file detection and cleanup suggestions

3. early preview

KeplerDocs is currently in early preview. The Service is provided free of charge during this period. Features, functionality, and availability may change without notice. We make no guarantees about uptime, reliability, or the accuracy of AI-generated insights.

4. user responsibilities

When using KeplerDocs, you agree to:

• Use the Service only for lawful purposes
• Not attempt to exploit the system or circumvent rate limits
• Take responsibility for any files you choose to analyze
• Understand that AI-generated insights are suggestions only and should not replace your own judgment

5. file processing

KeplerDocs operates as follows:

• Files remain on your device. Only file metadata and limited content previews (up to 10KB for text files) are sent for analysis.
• Analysis is read-only. KeplerDocs never modifies, moves, or deletes your files.
• Scan data is stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB to allow session persistence and scan history.

6. rate limits

To ensure fair usage and service quality, rate limits apply. Free users get 50 AI analyses per day. These limits may change as we develop the Service and introduce paid plans.

7. intellectual property

You retain all rights to your files. KeplerDocs and its associated branding, design, and technology are the property of KeplerDocs. The name "KeplerDocs" is used in homage to Johannes Kepler and is not affiliated with any Kepler organizations.

8. disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not guarantee that AI-generated insights will be accurate or complete, that sensitivity detection will identify all private information, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Always verify important decisions about your files independently.

9. limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KeplerDocs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, arising from your use of the Service.

10. changes to terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
